ANAA EDUCATION

Dibujo de animales

From ANAA, we trust in childhood and youth as a engine for change. With the goal of achieving a society committed to animal welfare from an early age, the ANAA Educa program was born in 2004; the project of a team of ANAA volunteers in charge of raising awareness and educating about animal abuse.

This initiative has become, with training and tools, a transversal Educational Project. With animals as our banner, we work on solidarity, responsibility, and the adoption of sustainable habits.

In the activities we organize in Educational Centers and Associations, we become aware of the bond that exists between youth and animals. With the premise of legitimizing and giving space to each opinion, we create environments of safety, comfort, and hope so that boys and girls can verbalize their concerns and feelings.

Precisely, these testimonies are the ones that drive social change and the thinking necessary to consolidate a society that respects animals and the environment.

School visits

As educators we know the benefit provided by school outings outside the center. In addition to being considered part of learning as a fundamental component, any group outing always brings with it a series of positive aspects.

Among them we highlight fun, interpersonal relationships, a change from routine, and a development of the faculties of boys and girls through observation and the analysis of the experiences that surround them.

Cartel EDUCA

From ANAA educa, we propose a day based on experiential training whose primary value is animal protection. Participants will experience firsthand the daily work in a shelter; they will be able to learn about the reality of animals that have been rescued, their habits, their way of communication, and their stories.

Every situation of helplessness, abuse, or abandonment will become the pathway that brings them closer and allows them to connect with their emotions, as well as all the happy endings of animals that have been adopted by responsible families.

The objectives of the day are:

  • Raise awareness about responsible pet ownership.
  • Raise awareness about the abuse and abandonment of domestic animals in Spain.
  • Learn in situ about the work of animal shelters, focusing on ANAA.
  • Empathize with the reality of ANAA animals and their happy endings.

The methodology will be fully experiential, divided into two parts:

  • An educational workshop in our training room. The visit and activities in the enclosures to transfer what was learned.
  • The visit and activities in the enclosures to transfer what was learned.

*All activities of the day will be adapted to the target group. Do not hesitate to contact us without obligation and we will do our best to create an unforgettable experience for them.

ANAA facilities are located in the municipality of the northern mountain range Valdetorres del Jarama, Madrid. A route map and access info will be provided upon registration at: educacion@anaaweb.org

Our students' opinions

“Several groups of children from Colegio Parque are very grateful to the ANAA Association for teaching them how to care for and respect animals through their workshops held at the school, and to also enjoy them at their facilities in Madrid.

The children fondly remember the Vietnamese pot-bellied pigs, how they prepared their food and fed them, and how intelligent they were. They also valued the affection and care with which they treat and help all the little animals so that they can be adopted.

Thank you for taking the step to teach the little ones to love, care for, and respect animals.”

“Last Saturday we visited ANAA with our cubs from the Scout Group Águila. We wanted to show them the reality behind wanting to have a pet at home, and ANAA provided us with the help to do so. In a clear and easy way, they taught us to think about what adopting an animal entails (time, money, dedication, veterinarians...).

We were in contact with some dogs, cats, and Vietnamese pot-bellied pigs (we even fed them!). We are very grateful for the good treatment from the volunteers who were with us, and we are so glad that there are people who dedicate their time to helping these animals looking for a home. Thank you so much! (Cubs Leaders GS Águila)”
